Open Book's Fall Magazine is UP

Share |

Our Fall Magazine is up and with it is an exciting and brand-new feature: Spotlight, an ever-growing portrait gallery featuring the people in Toronto's literary scene. In this issue, Spotlight turns its eye to "The Editors," going behind-the-scenes to profile a highly talented group whose keen choices and wise guidance help shape the new books that land on shelves every season. All Spotlight portraits are created and photographed by one of our favourite Toronto photographers, Anna Ross.

In this issue's 48-Hour Interview, "The 21st Century Librarian," Caitlin Fralick, a Librarian at the Kingston Frontenac Public Library, and Jessica Rovito, a Librarian with the Toronto Public Library, talk about patrons, ebooks, "rebellious heroines" and the future of their profession.

In "What We Talk About When We Talk About Books," Erin Balser writes about the pleasure of "brash and boozy" and "articulate and insightful" book club meetings.

Wayne Grady and Merilyn Simonds discuss the process of co-authoring a book as a husband-and-wife team in "Two for the Road." Earlier this fall, Wayne and Merilyn celebrated the launch of their new book, Breakfast at the Exit Café: Travels Through America at the Kingston WritersFest.
