Four Seasons:

Bears seem to have as many different moods as people do. In the Bears 2011 Calendar published by Firefly Books, world-renowned photographers capture grizzly bears, brown bears and polar bears in scenes from every season.

The snow can cover up a lot — but only for so long. In Winter's Grip (RendezVous Crime) by Brenda Chapman is a dark family mystery that will send a chill down your spine.

A Foster Christmas (Playwrights Canada Press) is a collection of four festive plays by Norm Foster, Canada's favourite playwright. Get in the holiday spirit with a glass of eggnog and "Ethan Claymore," "Bob’s Your Elf," "The Christmas Tree" and "Dear Santa."

Celebrate ten years of Marie-Louise Gay's Stella by following the sprightly little girl through the four seasons with My Little Stella Library (Groundwood Books).

Based on a true story, A Chanukah Noel (Second Story Press) by Sharon Jennings follows Charlotte, a Jewish girl newly arrived in France, as she tries to navigate her new environment and the sights and sounds of Christmas. Illustrated by Gillian Newland.

Written and hauntingly illustrated by Maxwell Newhouse, Counting on Snow (Tundra Books) counts through the animals in the Arctic — while the snowstorm gets heavier with every turn of the page.

Have you ever wondered what your sandals get up to while their hidden away for winter? Join little Abby as she takes the change of seasons — and footwear — to heart in A Flock of Shoes (Annick Press), written by Sarah Tsiang and illustrated by Qin Leng.

The Wood Engravers' Network, which includes members from across the world, has teamed up with The Porcupine's Quill to create A Calendar of Days, the first beautiful product of what will be an ongoing collaboration.
