Shortlisted for the Governor General's Award for Poetry, Sandy Pool's Exploding into Night (Guernica Editions) is based on a murder that took place in Toronto's Parkdale. In an interview with Open Book, Pool said, "The poem speaks in many voices; including that of killer, victim and the conscience of the city itself."
