On Sunday, October 24, the IV (International Visitors) Program at Toronto's big and amazing International Festival of Authors (IFOA) kicked off with a lively lunch celebrating Ontario publishers and authors. The event was held at Toronto's Intercontinental Hotel and sponsored by the Ontario Media Development Corporation (OMDC).

Launched in 2008, the IV Programme invites publishing professionals from around the world to participate in five days of inter-industry dialogue with the goal of increasing opportunities for Canadian authors and publishers abroad. IV Programme participants benefit from a full schedule of publisher-hosted events and receptions, a mini rights-fair and an industry-focus panel, and attending a number of IFOA onstage events.

At the inaugural Ontario Lunch, guests were welcomed by Geoffrey Taylor, Artistic Director of IFOA; Kim McArthur, President of McArthur & Company Publishing; and Karen Thorne-Stone, CEO of the OMDC. Ontario publishers, authors and literary media mingled with the International Visitors at a fun and talkative reception and lunch.

Toronto photographer Anna Ross was there to photograph the festivities for Open Book. Please click on any photo below to launch the gallery.

We hope people are happy to see pictures of themselves on Open Book’s image gallery, but if you’d like your photo removed please contact us at info@openbooktoronto.com and we’ll remove it as soon as possible.
