Poetry International Web, an English-language website created by the Poetry International Foundation in 2002, highlights Canadian poet Erín Moure. With the goal of presenting “quality poetry from the Netherlands and worldwide to an international readership,” they have provided an interesting profile of this Calgary-born Montreal poet and her multilingual approach to poetry, which is highly celebrated “as a kind of method or philosophy” and described as “a potent mix of the linguistic, the intellectual and the political.” The author of more than 15 books of poetry, she has also translated work by French, Galacian and Portuguese writers. Seven of Erin’s poems have been published on the website in order to give readers a taste of what she writes. They are "Living Proof,” “Doubled Elegy, Ethical” “Splay With a Stone,” “The Unseizable Elegy,” “Dictate,” “Defrocked Ending” and “Pietá." Erín Moure describes the poems published on PIW, explaining, “[they are] purporting to be translations by Elisa Sampedrín — who doesn’t exist — and who translates from a language she does not even know: simply because she sees the poems and wants to read them, and can’t, in their original language.” Please view the profile of Erín Moure here.
