Just a friendly reminder to published authors that The Public Lending Right Commission registration period is now open.

The Public Lending Right (PLR) Commission distributes annual payments to Canadian authors for the presence of their books in Canadian public libraries.

The registration period is from February 15 to May 1, 2011.

Registrations by e-mail are not accepted. Authors must fill out a registration form and mail it to the Public Lending Right Commission along with the required support material.

If you are already registered with the PLR Commission, you should receive your PLR package by the end of February. It contains a File Update form for you to use to add new titles or update your address.

If you are registering for the first time, click here to get a Registration form.

The PLR Commission communicates with authors once a year - every February. If you send the PLR a registration form in 2011, the next time you will hear from us will be in February 2012.

If the deadline date falls on a weekend or statutory holiday, the deadline moves to the next business day. Your completed application and all support material must be postmarked on or before the deadline date.
