Antanas Sileika, Director of the Humber School for Writers, is pleased to announce that noted authors Richard Bausch, David Bezmozgis, and Julia Glass will join an internationally-acclaimed faculty at the Humber School for Writers Summer Workshop, July 9 – 15, 2011.
Wayson Choy, Bruce Jay Friedman, Isabel Huggan, Alistair MacLeod, John Metcalf, Kim Moritsugu, Nino Ricci, Olive Senior, Guy Vanderhaeghe, Erika de Vasconcelos, and Frieda Wishinsky are also on this summer’s faculty list.
Richard Bausch is the author of 11 novels and eight collections of stories. His body of work includes, in part, Rebel Powers, In The Night Season, Thanksgiving Night, Peace, Spirits, Someone To Watch Over Me, Wives & Lovers, and most recently, Something is Out There. He has won two National Magazine Awards, a Lila-Wallace Reader's Digest Fund Writer's Award, the Award of the American Academy of Arts and Letters, the PEN/Malamud Award for Excellence in the Short Story, and the Dayton Literary Peace Prize.
David Bezmozgis is a writer and filmmaker. His work has appeared in The New Yorker, Harper’s, Zoetrope, The Walrus, The NewYork Times Magazine, and various other publications. His first book, Natasha and Other Stories, won the Commonwealth Regional First Book Prize and was nominated for the Governor General’s Award. His first novel, The Free World, is out this month. In 2010, he was included in The New Yorker's prestigious ‘20 Under 40’ fiction issue.
Julia Glass is the author of Three Junes, winner of the National Book Award for Fiction; The Whole World Over; and I See You Everywhere, winner of the Binghamton University John Gardner Book Award. She has received fellowships from the National Endowment for the Arts, the New York Foundation for the Arts, and the Radcliffe Institute for Advanced Study. Her latest novel is The Widower’s Tale.
