The Scotiabank Giller Prize, in conjunction with its new official broadcast partner the CBC, is introducing the Readers’ Choice contest, in which readers will have the chance to nominate their Canadian fiction picks for the prize’s longlist. Readers can now fill out a nomination form for the book on this year's eligible list they feel best deserves the $50,000 award. The book that earns the most nominations will be added to the longlist.

On top of that, all readers who place their votes will also be entered in a weekly draw for a Kobo eReader prize pack. However, the grande prize at the end of the contest is a trip for two adults to the 2011 Scotiabank Giller Prize gala in Toronto on November 8, including a two-night accommodation at the Four Seasons Hotel, $1,000 in spending money and a $200 voucher for dinner at Nota Bene.

The official longlist will be announced on September 6, 2011.
