WCDR Whispered Words Contest

The Writer’s Community of Durham Region (WCDR) is currently accepting submissions for their Whispered Words anthology contest. The contest has two prizes: one for prose writing in multiple genres, and another for cover design. The prose winner will be awarded $1000 and have their piece published in the Whispered Words literary anthology. The cover design winner will be awarded $150 and their design will be used on the cover.

The $400 second place, $200 third place and selected honourable mentions will also be published in the anthology. All entrants will receive feedback from the judges.

The theme of the anthology is, of course, whispered words. The judges for the contest are: author and Director of the Humber School for Writers, Antanas Sileika, who will judge writing; and David Schembri of Surfacing Magazine who will judge the cover designs.

The deadline for submission is November 30, 2011. The winners will be announced in March of 2012.

Visit the contest webpage for more details and contest rules.
